Healie Project addresses the challenge of making health information accessible, understandable, and personalized for patients. Our team integrates health psychology, cognitive science, and AI technologies to develop HEALIE (HEALth Information Enhancement), a system that transforms medical content to match each patient’s individual needs. Using a custom Knowledge Graph and Retrieval Augmented Generation powered by Large Language Models, HEALIE generates patient-tailored information that considers health literacy, cognitive abilities, socio-economic background, and emotional state. This enables complex medical information to be delivered in clear, relatable, and actionable ways. By combining psychological insight with cutting-edge AI, the project enhances patient empowerment, supports active engagement in care, and promotes better health outcomes.
